I media etichettano i manifestanti come “terroristi”.

ENGLISH VERSION

“I STAND WITH FARMER”

My name is Gursharan and I am an 18 year old Indian girl. I was born in Amritsar, in the state of Punjab (north of India) and my mother, brother and grandparents still live there.
I arrived in Italy last February to study and to settle in my life and I enrolled in a course of Tourist Hospitality at the Hotelier, where I attend 3AAT.

In this article I want to reveal the bad faces of Indian government. I’m learning your language, but I’ve only been here 10 months and the lock-down didn’t help me much to learn new language. So please forgive any mistakes.

In this article I am going to unveil some current situations in India that are not covered by the media due to COVID-19. I want to address the people of world who don’t know dark secrets of indian government. Where  the whole world is fighting with the deadly virus on the other side the farmers of India especially (Punjab, Haryana, Southern up) are fighting for their rights against Indian government.

On 17th september 2020, Narender Modi the prime minister of India along with the parliament passed 3 antifarmers bills, which will proove very dangerous in future. The outlook of the bills seems very effective and good. But the issue is that it’s unclear how this will play out in reality.

This is a type of death warrant for small and marinalised farmers. This aimed at destroying them by handing over agricultural and market to the big corporates. They want to snatch our land. These ordinances are useful only for the rich people. But we will not let them do this.

The same bills were already passed in other states of India like Maharashtra and Bihar (2006-07). Whose farmers are coming to Punjab and Haryana to work in our fields. The government wants the same situation in Punjab too. They want us to become their slaves again and work under them.

According to these so called good bills it will increase the farmers income, instead it will reduce it.

The farmer will be free to sell his crop anywhere and to anyone in the India, instead this will force the farmers to take low price otherwise they won’t accept their crop. So they decided let’s break the Mandi system (existing only in Punjab, Haryana and Southern up). Due to this Mandi board system the government is forced to buy the crop at the fixed price from Punjab and Haryana. In other states the farmers get very low prices for their crops.

The condition of farmers are not good. One example – when farmers sow onions and sell to private buyers they buy it at RS 2 per kg, due to overharvesting. The buyers store all the stuff and produced by the farmer. When the season goes off the same buyer sell the onions at rs 100 per kg to same farmer. In this protest the youth and the older people even at ages of 90 are participating. From 20 days they are standing in Delhi, in such a cold season leaving their homes, children sleeping on the streets requesting government to take back these bills, but the government is doing nothing. They don’t want to take back these bills because it will not satisfy the needs of big companies; moreover the farmers have to face tear gases, barriers, water cannons and military. The Media of India never shows the reality of government, the media is busy in showing the useless news of Bollywood. The media is tagging the protestors as terrorist. If we are terrorist then every person who fought for his or her rights is a terrorist. We are happy to be a terrorist, at least we are fighting for the good and truth. We are not like them the typical “saviours“ who snatch the food from us, leaving us to die.

We the youth will not let these evil ideas of the government to fulfill.  Our background is farming and we are proud of this. This is our responsibility to stand with our elders who are doing everything for our better future.
Now it’s time to pay back and stand up against the government and big corporates industries and reveal internationally the bad purposes of the indian system that they want to destroy our culture by pointing on the agriculture. If the farmers loss this fight then everything will get finish.

NO FARMER NO FOOD.
